Top Crossovers in the market
62Best Crossovers!
A crossover is the best option out their for a person who needs a car for the family and to be used for regular driving especially commuting back and forth from work. SUV'S are expensive and hard to drive for all family members and Minivans, are good for the kids but not a practical car for the everyday driver.
I was looking for a vehicle I could drive to the city for work, and to take my kids to their school and little league practice. The crossover vehicles were made for this reason. In this segment their are many vehicles, I looked at the AUDI Q5, ACURA MDX, ACURA RDX, LINCOLN MKX, FORD FLEX, AND THE INFINITI FX AND EX.
The price range for all these vehicles are similar anywhere from $37,000-$50,000 for a fully loaded version. I want to preface this by stating this is my opinion, and in no way am I an expert on cars, but I am similar to many people who want an opinion on these vehicles. What I looked for in a crossover was, size, price, the outside and inside look and feel.
The Lincoln MKX, was an excellent vehicle and was large enough for the family, but not too big to drive to work. It looked nice and the inside was impressive. I never looked at an American car before, and this car was impressive the major issue I had was the price. They wanted $42-$44,000 for this vehicle, and with a full loaded version it was close to $50,000. Also the drive of the vehicle was similar to a SUV.
The AUID Q5, was a waste of time, the price was in the low $40,000 range and for that price you got the base model. The back seat area was small and the inside was not as nice as the others. If it's name was not Audi, it would be priced at $25,000.
The ACURA MDX, is a great car inside it really fits 4-5 comfortably and drives like a strong car. The outside is ordinary, but the price was $45,000 and more, for that price I did not see what was so great, as it has become too common to be worth paying that price. The RDX, is a tiny version of the MDX, and is similar to a HONDA CRV. Not worth it for the price.
The Ford Flex, was my favorite car from the outside and inside it is the largest of all the vehicles, and from the outside looks modern and stylish. The inside was fine, but the drive and for my use it was not practical as driving this car to the city everyday would be hard. It was still priced in $35,000 range but worth it.
The Infiniti FX35, looked unique from the outside and the inside looked better than all other vehicles, I do not know about the quality but the leather stitched seats made you feel as if this was a luxury vehicle. The car drove similar to a large sedan, but you can tell you are in a crossover. The car came with the premium package, all wheel drive and a back up camera for $38,885. The trunk space and back seat area is ok, but for more than 4 people it will be cramped, the trunk space is small. The Infinit EX, was nice but good for a small family maybe one child, it looks nice and I would buy it if I had no kids.
I decided to purchase the Infiniti FX35, first the look was unique, unlike the Acura it is not a common car, it is easy to drive and fits my family of four well. For the price, I was not left with a base vehicle as I would have been with the others, for the price I felt the Infinti FX35 was the best option. If I had a budget of $50,000, I would have choosen the FX50 which is a larger version and in terms of technology and only the BMW come close but at a much higher price.
If I did not need a car for everday use as well as for the family I would have choosen the Ford Flex, it just looked good and was comfortable for the entire family. If the Acura MDX, was cheaper I would have considered it, but the look was to common. The Infiniti is above all the others for a price under $40,000, it comes all wheel drive, back up camera, stiched leather seats and much more.
